The second report of the Secretary-General submitted pursuant to Security Council resolution 1757 (2007), on the subject of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, has been issued (S/2008/173). The report outlines progress since September 2007 in several areas, including, among others: the location of the seat of the Tribunal; the appointment of the judges, the Prosecutor, the Deputy Prosecutor, the Registrar and the Head of the Defence Office; the transition from the International Independent Investigation Commission to the Tribunal.
