Disasters triggered by natural hazards destroy lives and livelihoods. They affect millions of people every year, rich or poor. In this new simulation video game created by the United NAtions International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UN/ISDR), with the player's help it is possible to reduce human, physical and financial costs of disasters by understanding the risks and applying the best methods of prevention and mitigation. Simple measures really do save lives.
The player's role in the game is to create a safer environment for the population. The player must assess the disaster risk and try to limit the damage when natural hazards strike. Expect advice along the way... both good and bad.
