Report of the Secretary-General on the Modalities for the Establishment of Specialized Somali Anti-Piracy Courts

This report was submitted pursuant to para. 26 of Security Council resolution 1976 (2011) of 11 Apr. 2011. The Annexes include: 1. Incidents of piracy off the coast of Somalia and numbers of prosecutions by States -- 2. Somalia political and legal context -- 3. Numbers and level of training of legal professionals in each of the 3 regions of Somalia, and information about legal professionals among the Somali diaspora -- 4. Financiers, facilitators, leaders and planners of piracy -- 5. Update of UN assistance to States in the region to prosecute and imprison.
