Human Rights Day 2007

On 10 December 2007, Human Rights Day, the UN Secretary-General and the High Commissioner for Human Rights will launch a year-long celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. A UN system-wide advocacy campaign is planned throughout 2008. Commemorative projects are taking shape around the world. Governments and civil society are using this occasion to reinforce the importance of the universality of human rights and justice at the regional and country levels.
