 TITLE
PREVENTING CRIME: WHAT WORKS FOR CHILDREN OFFENDERS VICTIMS AND PLACES
 ABSTRACT
This book details the role of the Campbell Collaboration Crime and Justice Group in assessing outcomes in crime prevention and criminal justice and is organized around four key domains in criminology and crime prevention: children at risk, offenders, victims and high-crime places. Crime prevention policy should be based on interventions with demonstrated effectiveness in preventing crime - in the authors’ words, using “what works best”. Systematic reviews are the most comprehensive method of assessing the effectiveness of crime prevention measures and they could be the source that government would turn to for help in the development of effective crime prevention policies. This is the first book to assess the effectiveness of crime prevention interventions by using the methodology of the systematic review approach. ||
