TITLE |
COMPLEMENTARITY IN THE ROME STATUTE AND NATIONAL CRIMINAL JURISDICTIONS |
|
ABSTRACT |
This publication examines the principle of complementarity in the Rome Statute of International Criminal Court (ICC). It aims to elucidate the potential of this concept in filling the gap left by national enforcement of the prohibitions of ICC crimes. It also illustrates its implications on the suppression of ICC crimes by national criminal legislations. Finally, it considers the aspect of accountability and its development in relation to the impact of complementarity. |
