TITLE |
DEVELOPING A BIOLOGICAL INCIDENT DATABASE (NEW YORK, 23 OCTOBER 2008) |
|
ABSTRACT |
The publication presents UNODA’s project for the creation of a Biological Incidents Database whose aim is the assistance to Member States in preventing and combating terrorism. The Database analyzes the causes of biological incidents worldwide categorizing them as natural, accidental and deliberate, thus providing a platform for information sharing on past responses, best practices and lessons learned. The book also includes a selection of excerpts from United Nations General Assembly resolutions and Reports of the Secretary General on the subject of terrorism and counter-terrorism strategies. In the Appendix a template of the form for inserting data into the Biological Incidents Database is provided. |
