| This book collects a series of papers presented at the Regional Forum on Good Governance for East Asian Countries organized by UNAFEI and the Supreme Public Prosecutors Office of Japan, which took place in Tokyo in 2008. The keynote speeches here published cover the two main themes addressed in this Forum and the two new aspects of corruption which have emerged in the latest years: the involvement of the private sector in corruption, which affects the public sector as well due to their close interaction; and the globalization of corruption, which poses new challenges but also prompts creative and effective responses, like the adoption of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption. |
