TITLE |
TAKING ACTION AGAINST HIV: A HANDBOOK FOR PARLIAMENTARIANS |
|
ABSTRACT |
This publication constitutes a precious handbook for parliamentarians, and its purpose is twofold: it can be a call to action for parliamentarian leaders and can serve as a reference book where parliamentarians and their staff may find useful information and guidance on all HIV-related issues. Itprovides a long list of examples of good practices which parliamentarians worldwide can draw upon to form their own ideas and policy proposals in the field of the fight against the world HIV epidemic. A special emphasis is placed on human rights issues, as they are so closely linked and essential to the response to AIDS. The final section of the book offers a thorough and exhaustive series of basic information on HIV and AIDS. |
