Digital Trust Symposium 2010
The impact of online abuse on European economies and society

Rome, 21 June 2010. The United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) and VeriSign Inc. are hosting the first Digital Trust Symposium in Rome on 21-22 June 2010 at Grand Hotel Palatino, Via Cavour 213, Rome.

The meeting represents an important opportunity for participants spanning from various sectors (such as finance, e-commerce, government and law enforcement agencies, etc.) to share their experiences or recommendations while discussing the social and economic consequences of cyber crime. In particular the Symposium will focus on the social and economic ramifications that loss of credibility or "digital trust" would entail.

Among the various topics covered, there will be: the involvement of new types of criminal groups in cyber crimes, the impact of online abuse on European economies, who are the end users, corporations and government entities reacting to attacks on online trust, and the new common actions against cybercrime.

The meeting will see the participation of high level representatives from international institutions, as well as private and public entities.
